Write a letter

Letter-writing is a dying art: Don't let it be!

Sit down and write one…

  • To an old friend
  • Someone overseas
  • Your BFF
  • Your grandmother

Letter writing already feels like a thing of the past. What with text and email, who has the time to write? Let alone, even talk on the phone!

But a handwritten LETTER?

Now that’s something to treasure. For the recipient and the one doing the writing.

When you put pen to paper and allow your thoughts and memories and feelings and curiosity and imagination to flow⏤from brain to pen to friend or family member
⏤something satisfying comes over you. A feeling of connection that was once there gets rekindled. In the quiet of letter writing, you tap into your Self in new ways.

It’s a brilliant way to communicate between kids and parents as well.

Teens, adolescents and children writing letters to parents can help break up family discord and misunderstandings. The same goes for parents writing letters to their children.

Apologies, explanations, acknowledgements – all of these come across in a letter more profoundly than if they were spoken in the haste of daily life.

TRY IT!

Just choose someone, first person who pops into your head. Now get out your pen and a nice piece of paper and get writing.

I'm writing a letter to..

Tell us whom you’re writing a letter to, and why. Could be a letter to your mom or an old family friend, or even a letter to yourself.

The letter MUST BE HANDWRITTEN.
